Aveo is well known as the world's largest and highest-technology aerospace lighting producer. However, many are surprised to know that we are really a high-technology company, designing and producing in the highest-challenge industries. Aveo is more than 60% revenue-based in the defense industry across all sectors. Our new website gives you a peek into our capabilities, but because so much of our work is defense, much of it is classified and cannot be on our website in detail.

Aveo has many collaborations in these very complex and advanced technologies, but it has to be remembered that Aveo lights are packed with technologies in materials, optics, electronics, software, thermal management and its own proprietary emitters. All of these have come to be completely relevant to many other product categories in defense, space and other markets. So applying all these nonpareil technologies to other companies' problems has been very successful, and it has spawned JVs, collaborations, partnerships and even investments into startups and struggling small companies.

So grab a coffee, sit back, and take a moment to read a short story.

Many decades ago, I had the privilege to attend the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis for my college studies. At the same time one Ray Kwong also attended the USNA, as it is known. After four years of full-time studies we were commissioned as officers in the United States Navy and went off to our chosen service paths. I became a Navy pilot and Ray became a Surface Warfare Officer and specialized in electronic warfare. For those of you who were not in the military it is hard to understand the tight brotherhood that service together brings. You are truly brothers. We believe to the core in our brothers and sisters, and we believe service to everyone is the prime responsibility in life. Aveo has dedicated itself to that principle as a carryover from our military service, and many Aveo team members have worn the uniform.

So Ray and I reunited as brothers in the corporate world by forming a collaboration between our companies that grew ever closer as time and projects progressed. Almost every Aveo customer is a natural customer of the high-technology night vision, HUDs and special optics invented by his company, Epic Optix. So Aveo added an AveoOptix division to provide Adventure Capital assistance by putting Aveo's more than 500,000 square feet of debt-free facilities and Aveo's debt-free company to work, helping Epic in its highly advanced and extremely technical night-vision design-for-manufacture as well as product manufacturing, including industrial design, electronics design and manufacture, advanced-materials housings, software, and also opening the doors to our customers globally in 113 countries. The collaboration has been an amazingly great experience. The combination of smart people has resulted in unequalled designs, performance and quality, and not least lower-cost production and no design costs to Epic.

As a result of this incredibly powerful collaboration Ray has also taken on wider technology and leadership roles with the Aveo Group of Companies, as a natural outgrowth. This is Adventure Capital at work. We have created this mini-site within the Aveo web presence to introduce and explain these great products, conceived by Epic and produced by Aveo. We hope you are as excited about these unrivalled products as we are; we think you will recognize them as revolutionary in their own right.
